“On guard, you BITCH!”
When it was originally released in 1992, Robert Zemeckis’ pitch black comedy, DEATH BECOMES HER, was surrounded by drama on and off the camera. Amid recuts and script changes, a little gem of quality camp emerged.

Starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn as too backstabbing frienemies with nothing but contempt for one another! When the secret of youth is discovered, the leading ladies will stop at nothing to not only stay young forever, but make sure the other one shrivels up and dies!

With a cast featuring Bruce Willis and Isabella Rossellini, DEATH BECOMES HER is full of eye popping special effects and is the only movie where Meryl Streep gets hit in the head by a shovel!

“You’re gonna be the best-looking cowboy in the whole parade.”
1969 was a watermark year for cinema. Robert Schlesinger challenged the ratings board and released his controversial film, MIDNIGHT COWBOY, with a X rating. It would go on to win 3 Oscars, including Best Picture, making it to this day the only film to do so.

MIDNIGHT COWBOY catapulted Jon Voight’s career and his portrayal of the naive male for hire, Joe Buck, would set a precedent in acting. The film also solidified Dustin Hoffman as a voice and face in American cinema to be reckoned with.

The film is a gritty slice of life set on the mean streets of New York City. The landscape itself becomes a supporting actor as it suffocates the the cowboy and the rat, yet also frees them. MIDNIGHT COWBOY is a bravo piece of cinema that feels as fresh as the day it open.
