“That wasn’t a very nice thing to say, Martha.”

Mike Nichols’ 1966 film of the one set play by Edward Albee set Hollywood and the movie going public on fire with WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Scathing and staggering in cinematography and acting, WAOVW? took Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton to a new level of legend as the two battled it out in a booze soaked clash of egos and heartbreak as George and Martha.

After meeting Nick and Honey, played by George Segal and Sandy Dennis, the power couple invites them over for a quick nightcap. Little do the unsuspecting visitors know that George and Martha like to drink and then drink some more. After that, they like to fight and fight some more! Like pawns in their game, Nick and Honey, soon learn the hard way that you should never get in the way of a relationship or the bottle.

Winner of 5 Academy Awards, including Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, and nominate for 8 more, WAOVW? is a stunning masterpiece.

Drink Hard. Love Harder.

At 9:45pm we learn that sexytime can be a real KILLER with BASIC INSTINCT!
Tickets $6 advance/ $8 day of show

Sexy time can be a real KILLER.

“What are you gonna do? Charge me with smoking?”

One of the most talked about movies of the 90’s is back on the big screen as we present the titillating and ridiculous BASIC INSTINCT.

Directed by Paul Verhoeven, the Joe Eszterhas script, is a fast and sexy ride with Micheal Douglas in the driver’s seat as a detective Nick Curran. It seems an aging rock star has been brutally murdered and the main suspect is a best selling author whose newest book is a blueprint for the crime. Enter Sharon Stone. The minute Sharon Stone comes into the picture, BASIC INSTINCT becomes something no one can hold onto. Played to the hilt of awesomeness and pure camp, Stone’s Catherine Tramell will go down as one of the most iconic female characters in modern cinema.

On the initial release of BASIC INSTINCT, many picketed the film because of the pretty blatant homophobia and misogynistic images of women. Nowadays it is regarded as a 90’s classic that is insanely quote able and totally excessive.

We are proud to present our Monday March 25th 9:45pm screening of BASIC INSTINCT in glorious HeckleVision. Your text appears on the screen as the movie plays!

Don’t forget that we have Happy Hour everyday from 5:30pm to 6:30pm and Pre-shows full of complete insanely from 6:30pm to 7:00pm! We hope to see you at Central Cinema!
